Reporting into our Associate Director of Grocery & Packaging, as a Category Manager for Packaging & Sustainability you will develop and lead the category strategy, drive process improvement initiatives across Australia and New Zealand for your scope, as well as act as a point of escalation for operational matters. We are looking for an ambitious, confident, entrepreneurial, and high-spirited procurement professional with both the analytical and soft skills to tackle tough challenges and work with suppliers in our procurement process.

What you'll do...

• Help develop and optimize our supplier network across Australia and New Zealand for your category
• Work closely with suppliers to optimize cost and the portfolio overall
• Create ongoing data analysis & category reviews to drive performance strategically within your category and achieve ambitious targets
• Lead process improvement initiatives across the category, leveraging various Procurement levers, optimizing and standardizing cross-category where possible
• Develop and align the Category Strategy with budget cycles and report on those frequently
• Support in providing procurement advice, price updates, reporting, replenishment, compliance & tenders
• Work closely with suppliers to build strong long-term relationships, including contract executions
• Work with suppliers to ensure operational excellence - on-time, on-spec deliveries or discuss shortages/missed deliveries
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (local and international) and improve workings between Procurement and other teams Research and develop relationships with new suppliers
• Assist with cost reporting, invoice validation, and supplier database maintenance
• Solve problems on-the-go in a fast-paced environment
• Look to develop and optimize our supplier network as well as new or alternative suppliers
• Lead and influence a variety of stakeholders within the business
• Explore sustainability opportunities and collaborate with our Sustainability team
• Be the Sustainability voice for the Procurement team Trial and validate new products in collaboration with our Quality and Production teams to improve the HelloFresh offering further
  

What you'll bring...

• Preferably, existing knowledge of (paper-based) packaging and sustainability practices
• Experience in running tenders across Australia and New Zealand is a pro
• Bachelor’s degree in Business / Masters in Supply Chain / Procurement (or equivalent)
• Ideally, working within a similar environment and sector (FMCG/Consumer goods)
• 3 + years of strategic procurement / supply chain / commercial consulting experience (ideally in food, but not a must)
• Knowledge of packaging markets, suppliers and packaging-specific opportunities and constraints is preferred
• A sound understanding of ANZ packaging sustainability and framework drivers (APCO/NZ Packaging Forum) and government 2025 goals for packaging
• Experience with supplier relationship management and driving continuous improvements within a category
• Quantitative and analytical experience, including solid comfort with Excel
• A proactive, flexible, ambitious, and assertive personality: you take ownership of your work
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
• Entrepreneurial and can make things happen, sense of urgency
